The Vision

The Vision

I love football, American football, not the other one. I enjoy watching it from preseason to the Super Bowl. Then, I have to find something else to do on Sunday afternoons. Besides the action, there are always some good stories and positive messages coming from the players and coaches. I always like a good story, especially a "come back" story.

So my favorite story these days is about Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. His team had made it to the Super Bowl back in 2023, but they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. As the confetti poured down on the field, Jalen snapped a picture of this tremendous loss. He made that losing picture his screensaver on his phone. He never wanted to forget that moment and would use that horrible picture to move forward. He said, "It's something you never forget." Fast forward to 2025, two years later, Jalen and the Philadelphia Eagles made it back to the Super Bowl against the same team they had lost to in 2023. Talk about karma. As I always say at my Tarot table, there are no coincidences. To say it was a game is, questionable. The Eagles killed the Chiefs 40-22 and won the Super Bowl. Several reporters asked Jalen if he was going to change his phone's screensaver to depict this victory, he always answered, "I'm not sure." Keeping that loss in mind, helped inspire this quarterback to work harder and NEVER forget, even if he won against this team in the future. This, I thought, was a very good attitude to have. As an intuitive, I definitely felt Jalen Hurts was going to keep that Super Bowl loss on his phone.

I was really intrigued by this story. I felt in many ways, what Jalen Hurts had done with his phone's screensaver, was basically a miniature Vision board. I had just updated my Vision board for 2025 and hung it back up in my laundry room. My Vision board hides the circuit breaker over my washer and dryer. That got me to thinking about my own Visions. Although I pass my Vision board on my way out to the garage, and sometimes I'd stand and look at it, but most of the time, it was there to hide the electrical box. It was colorful and pretty, with positive affirmations, but nothing much else was happening with my Vision board or my Life. A Vision board is there to inspire and helps keep your goals in mind on a daily basis. I knew something needed to shift.

I decided to take the board down and put it in my bathroom where I could look at it everyday while I was getting ready. With all these great pictures and affirmations, I thought maybe looking at it daily, I could shift some of my goals in the right direction. Well, to say things have changed is an understatement. Every morning while brushing my teeth or blow drying my hair, I read over everything on my board. Some of this year's goals are, lose some weight, work out consistently and improve my Tarot business. Since the Vision board has been moved to where I see it daily and pay attention to it, I'm down 20 pounds, swimming laps weekly and I have received several new inquiries for my Tarot business which have led to new ideas percolating. Things have definitely shifted and for the better. There is something to be said, about starting your day off right and on a positive note which I think this Vision board does.

What I really like about this change is, the amount of positive statements I say to myself first thing in the morning. I came from a very hard family and put downs were constant. Not only do my positive affirmations first thing in the morning shift my mindset, but I am also finding that negative voice that always downplays my progress is not as loud. I catch myself listening to it and then I replace my "stinking thinking" with confidence by saying, "Delete, Block" or I remember one of the affirmations from my board. I do have Inner Child healing on my Vision board too.

To keep this positive mindset going, I added an end fo the day mental review. After the day is done and I am in bed getting ready for sleep, I ask for three things. First up, I thank the Universe for a good day and mention one thing specifically that happened that day, that I am grateful for. Next, I ask the Universe to take away any and all negativity that I have absorbed today, it could even be a specific instance where I wasn't happy with my behavior or with what happened. I definitely try to be specific with both, what made it a good day and what needs to be let go. Last, I ask the Universe to help me with something I'm working on. It could be something on my Vision board or just something that I would like to improve on or see resolved. In other words, I am setting an intention for what's to come tomorrow. That's it. Some gratitude, some release and some intentions for tomorrow.

I am a firm believer in what's called, "The Ripple Effect". Whether it's using FengShui or my Vision board, making one small step in the right direction, will catch on and spread to other facets of your Life. The first step is always the hardest. I have found after reading Tarot for so many years and for so many people and for so many walks of Life, either the Ripple Effect starts in your personal life or your professional life. It's whatever area of your Life calls to you, to plant that seed and set your new intention. That's your starting point. Once the shift starts happening, whether you are putting together a new idea, finding a new job or setting better boundaries with so-called friends, you'll start to see the changes. Once that first change starts coming in, you'll start to see what can be changed in other areas of your life.

So my Vision board has got me envisioning the other goals I have posted on it. They may take a little longer to come to fruition, but it is a process and I already see and feel the improvement. One vision that is on my board is, to get back to my writing So, after a year of writer's block, I finally have written a new blog to post. Now, someone sent me information about Substack. Small steps, but I know I am heading in a positive direction. I know this because I already envisioned it, put it on a board, where I am reflecting on it daily.
